Black Triangle Closure

A dark triangular gap had opened between this patient's upper front teeth where the gum had receded from the contact point, catching food and drawing the eye in every photograph. Working under rubber dam, a shaped matrix was placed to carry composite down into the space, and tooth-coloured material was layered against each tooth to broaden the contact and close the triangle from the gum edge upwards. The contour was then finished and polished so the gum tissue sits comfortably against it and floss passes cleanly. No healthy enamel was cut. Treatment was carried out in Marylebone, London, and results shown are individual to this patient.
