Terms &conditions

1. About These Terms

Dr Jurgita Smiles Ltd ("the Practice") provides private dental care, including cosmetic and restorative dentistry, at 35 Devonshire Place, London W1G 6JP. Jurgita Sybaite is registered with the General Dental Council, GDC number 242279.

Information on my website, in marketing materials, or in the clinic does not constitute medical advice and cannot substitute for a clinical assessment. All treatment is provided subject to clinical examination, professional judgement, informed consent, a personalised treatment plan, and these Terms.

By booking an appointment or proceeding with treatment, you confirm you've read and agreed to these Terms. I may update them from time to time; the version in force at the time of your booking applies.

2. Clinical Judgement

Treatment recommendations reflect professional judgement based on your individual assessment. Dentistry is not an exact science, and outcomes — while planned with care — cannot be guaranteed. I reserve the right to pause, adjust, or decline to proceed with treatment at any stage where doing so is clinically appropriate or in your best interests.

3. Fees & Payment

Fees are payable as services are rendered, at each appointment. Treatments involving laboratory work (crowns, veneers, bridges, dentures, aligners, retainers, whitening trays) require payment in advance of that stage, before laboratory work is commissioned; once laboratory work has been ordered, these costs cannot be refunded.

I do not process insurance claims directly. You'll receive an itemised invoice to submit to your insurer, and you remain responsible for payment regardless of your insurer's decision.

4. Cancellations & Missed Appointments

I ask for at least 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment, free of charge. Cancellations or non-attendance with less than 48 hours' notice will be charged at £180 per hour of the appointment missed.

For genuine emergencies, this charge may be reduced or waived at my discretion — this isn't guaranteed and is assessed case by case.

5. Consultation Fees

Consultation fees cover the time, assessment, and clinical expertise involved and are non-refundable once the appointment has taken place. If, following assessment, treatment isn't recommended or you decide not to proceed, the consultation fee still applies, as the professional service was provided regardless of outcome.

6. Unscheduled Attendance

If your dentist is required to attend the practice outside normal working hours for an emergency, a fee of £250 applies.

7. Treatment Outcomes

All dental treatment involves individual biological variation and healing response. I aim for the best possible outcome for you specifically — as with every case, treatment is planned around what suits your own teeth, bite and face — but exact shade matching in every lighting condition, absolute symmetry, and lifetime durability cannot be guaranteed. Cosmetic outcomes are inherently a matter of individual judgement and cannot alone be grounds for a refund once treatment has been carried out as planned and agreed.

8. Treatment Plan Validity

Fee estimates in a treatment plan are valid for 6 months. If treatment is delayed beyond this, I'll review and, if necessary, update the plan and fees before proceeding — you'll always see a revised estimate first.

9. Refunds

My priority where something hasn't gone as planned is to put it right clinically, not to default to a refund. Where a genuine concern is raised, I'll investigate it properly and discuss the right remedy with you directly.

Refunds are not available for: consultation fees, deposits lost to late cancellation or non-attendance, laboratory or third-party costs already committed, treatment already carried out as agreed, or normal post-treatment sensitivity and healing.

10. Your Responsibilities

Please provide accurate, complete medical history and let me know of any changes, follow post-treatment care instructions, and attend review appointments — these directly affect how well treatment settles and lasts.

11. Behaviour

I'm committed to a respectful, professional relationship with every patient. I reserve the right to end the clinical relationship in cases of abuse, aggression, or harassment toward staff. Where this happens, any balance owed for services already provided remains payable; any amount paid for treatment not yet carried out will be handled fairly.

12. Payment Disputes

If you have a concern about a charge, please raise it with me directly first — most things can be resolved quickly this way. Outstanding balances not resolved may be referred for debt recovery, and you may be responsible for reasonable, proportionate costs this incurs.

13. Photography & Records

Clinical photographs, scans and records form part of your file. With your specific consent, anonymised images may be used for education or in my case studies — this is always separately agreed, never assumed.

14. Non-Refundable Items

Medications, whitening gels, retainers and similar items are non-refundable once supplied.

15. Complaints

Please put complaints in writing to Jurgita Sybaite directly at info@drjurgitasmiles.com. I aim to acknowledge complaints within 2 working days and resolve them within 20 working days.

16. Feedback & Reviews

I'd always rather hear about a concern directly than see it online first — if something's not right, please tell me so I can put it right. I welcome honest reviews and don't ask patients to hold back genuine feedback.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of its courts.
