Heavily Filled Teeth Restored — Upper & Lower Veneers, Bite Balanced
Every tooth in this patient's mouth had a filling, and worn, thinned edges were making a young smile look older than it should. Rather than patch things one tooth at a time again, she chose to restore the whole mouth — smile, bite and function together — with porcelain veneers. The design started digitally: a 3D model refined and customised to her own face, character and lifestyle, so the final shape was planned and agreed before any tooth was touched.
As with any full-mouth case, the priority throughout was a result that looks natural, preserves as much of the remaining tooth structure as possible, and rebuilds the bite properly enough that nothing fails later because of how the teeth meet. Upper and lower teeth were restored with porcelain veneers and onlays, several old crowns were replaced, and two missing teeth were replaced with implants and implant-retained crowns rather than a bridge.
Implants were the more sensible choice for those two gaps: they don't require cutting down healthy adjacent teeth to anchor a bridge, they have notably higher long-term success rates than long-span bridges, and — with enough bone available, as there was here — placement is a relatively straightforward procedure. It's also the safer long-term option: when a bridge eventually fails, it tends to take the supporting teeth down with it, often meaning even more implants are needed later rather than fewer.
