Peg-Shaped Tooth Reshaping

This patient had a narrow, peg-shaped upper lateral incisor that sat visibly smaller and rounder than the tooth on the other side, leaving a gap either side of it. Rather than crowning the tooth, composite was bonded directly to widen and lengthen it — adding shape at the sides to close the spaces, rebuilding the incisal edge, and matching the shade, translucency and surface texture of the neighbouring teeth. No healthy enamel was drilled away. The result is a lateral incisor in proportion with the rest of the smile, achieved in a single visit. Treatment was carried out in Marylebone, London, and results shown are individual to this patient.
