White Fillings — Back Teeth

This patient had old amalgam fillings in the back teeth with staining and decay creeping in around the edges. Working under rubber dam, the metal was removed, the decay cleaned back to sound tooth structure, and the teeth rebuilt with layered tooth-coloured composite — shaped to restore the natural grooves and cusps so the bite feels normal and food no longer catches. Keeping the restorations bonded and tooth-coloured preserves more of the natural tooth than a crown would. Treatment was carried out in Marylebone, London, and results shown are individual to this patient.
